Location, location, location …

Just before Coronation Street of a Friday is a show about home ownership, the current force/trend of western European history.  It’s no longer imperialism; it’s Location.

In about 100 years’ time, there will be papers to take at university in modern history that will look very different to the papers I took, From the Treaty of Versailles to Pearl Harbour being the most memorable.

In that paper, Chamberlain fucked up da peace by giving increasing concessions to Hitler, and avoiding confrontation led to worse confrontation.  Great lessons for day to day life, let alone war.

I’ve never forgotten the appeasement model, and while it makes me look like an unforgiving, inflexible cowbag, it’s an important lesson.  Hashtag terrorism, hashtag child rearing, hashtag dealing with bullshitting takers.

The papers my kids will read will look very different, though.
