In that paper, Chamberlain fucked up da peace by giving increasing concessions to Hitler, and avoiding confrontation led to worse confrontation. Great lessons for day to day life, let alone war.
I’ve never forgotten the appeasement model, and while it makes me look like an unforgiving, inflexible cowbag, it’s an important lesson. Hashtag terrorism, hashtag child rearing, hashtag dealing with bullshitting takers.
The papers my kids will read will look very different, though.
